Bulls flyhalf Handre Pollard was ruled out for the entire Super Rugby tournament, as the Bok number 10 tore cruciate knee ligaments during a training session at Loftus Versfeld on Tuesday.

Pollard was returning from a shoulder injury as he began light, non-contact, training when he sustained the injury.

According to Bulls coach Nollis Marais, the player was busy with a passing drill when he sustained the injury.

Scans later revealed Pollard would be ruled out of action between six and nine months.

The Bulls have already been hit by other injury blows with Deon Stegmann and Lappies Labuschagne also battling to return to full fitness.
