1 Jan Serfontein’s grubber (snatched up by the Pumas)

With a result like this, the unfortunate incident was nothing to write to SARU about, but it could have easily been a bigger taint had the Boks not stepped up like they did. Also, it seemed to boost the Argentinians, who put the Boks under some pressure after those five points.

2 That disallowed try

Again, in retrospect it doesn’t really matter - in fact, it doesn’t matter at all - because the Boks won. But that disallowed try in the first half did seem to scatter the Boks a little bit.

3 Raymond Rhule’s try

The try was great for a number of reasons - it stretched the Boks’ lead, it seemed to fire the Boks up, and it was a nice set-piece try.

4 Siya Kolisi’s home-town glory

The vice-captain scored a try in front of an ecstatic, rugby-hungry crowd in his home town - not really a result-influencing sentiment - but does it get any more special than that?

5 Every Elton Jantjies kick

This is obviously not a single, game-influencing moment, but the fact that he nailed all of his kicks at goal certainly did play a part on the scoreboard.
