PRETORIA – The Springboks take on the Wallabies in Brisbane on Saturday. This is what Pieter-Steph du Toit and coach Rassie Erasmus had to say ahead of their Rugby Championship match against the hosts:

In the words of Pieter-Steph du Toit:

“It is always nice to be in the starting line-up on the field. It is going to be an important role for everyone on the field especially for the guys who are getting a chance to start. That is part of our game to get a good start with intensity as well. I think it is going to be quite a challenging match against the Wallabies who came off two losses, and they are going to try and define that they are not a losing team as well.”

“They’ve got some of the best loose forwards in the world and the breakdown is always something targeted, and you know when you play against them it is going to be tough there. We’ve got to up our game especially in the breakdown and secure our own ball.”

In the words of Rassie Erasmus:

“We are looking for a good response on Saturday against the Wallabies and I am sure that this side will be up to the task. Australia, playing at home, will no doubt be highly motivated to bounce back, so we have to be ready for a huge contest.”

“We have worked hard to rectify our errors of last week and we know the set piece and breakdown battles are going to especially be important. The Wallabies are known for their abilities at the breakdown and we will have to be accurate and disciplined in those areas.”
