CAPE TOWN – Passionate Springbok rugby fans around the country will again be able to congregate in huge numbers to support the team during home Test matches this year with the return of the popular Boktown.

This comes after Springbok sponsors MTN answered the call to connect the Springboks and their fans by bringing back the popular fan parks.

Boktown, brought to fans in association with the official Springbok Supporters’ Club, creates a unique experience that goes beyond the 80 minutes of on-field action and gives South African rugby lovers the best alternative to being at the game.

Fans will be able to watch Tests live on the big screen and the entertainment continues long after the final whistle with entertainment, prizes and giveaways, best dressed fan competitions and activities for the kids.

It’s a Springbok rugby supporter’s dream experience that also speaks to the entire family.

Kicking off with the incoming England Test series and continuing with the Rugby Championship later this year, you can find your nearest Boktown venue in your town, hosted by Tsogo Sun: Montecasino (Johannesburg), Silverstar Casino (Krugersdorp), Goldfields Casino (Welkom) and Garden Route Casino (Mossel Bay) - with two new venues at Northwood Crusaders in Durban North and the Barnyard Willowbridge in Cape Town.

Boktown opens two hours before kick-off, so get there early to secure your seat and enjoy the gees and action with your friends, family and neighbours. Tickets are available at the venue or on Computicket.

Mapula Bodibe executive for consumer business at MTN, said: “The Springbok team remains an important national asset that many of us can identify with and Boktown is another way of connecting the nation to their passion - the Springboks.

“We are pleased to give our customers a platform that contributes to the growth of our national team and we urge our customers and rugby fans to continue supporting Bok Fridays by wearing their Springbok jerseys on Fridays for the incoming tour up to the 2019 Rugby World Cup and to get to Boktown on Test match days.
