PRETORIA – The Bulls suffered a major injury blow on Monday, with star No 8 Hanro Liebenberg being ruled out of action for eight weeks because of a knee injury sustained in the 40-10 victory against the Sharks on Saturday.

Liebenberg is set to undergo an operation on Wednesday to fix the damage suffered on his meniscus ligament at Kings Park in Durban.

Loose forward Nic de Jager and wing Travis Ismaiel have recovered from their injuries and will be training with the team but are unlikely to be considered for selection.

In addition, returning Springbok Sevens loose forward Tim Agaba is also unlikely to be considered to play against the Melbourne Rebels at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday (3.05pm kickoff).

The Rebels suffered their second defeat in a row at the weekend when they were surprisingly beaten 25-22 by the Jaguares of Argentina in Melbourne after coming off a bye.
