CAPE TOWN – The Cape Town Stadium will be the venue for what is being billed as a ‘Super-Hero Sunday Double Header’, and features two Super Rugby pre-season matches.

It is scheduled for February 3 and involves the four South African rugby franchises.

The Lions tackle the Sharks at 2pm, with the Stormers facing the Bulls in the later clash.

The Super Hero tag refers to the fact that the four teams will, for the first time, parade their new Marvel-themed kits.

The Stormers’ theme is Thor, the Bulls don Captain America, the Sharks showcase the Black Panther, while the Lions feature Spiderman.

The first round of the Super Rugby competition begins on Friday, February 15.

The opening South African games will see Robert du Preez’s Sharks face the Sunwolves away on Saturday, February 16, while later on the same day, new Bulls coach Pote Human will hope for a winning start against Robbie Fleck’s Stormers at Loftus Versfeld.

That match will be followed by the Lions, coached by Swys de Bruin, taking on the Jaguares in Argentina.
