DURBAN – Bafana Bafana midfielder Andile “Gattuso” Jali next destination is likely to be either in France, Germany or Spain.

This is according to his agent, Mike Makaab of ProSport International. Jali is plying his trade with KV Oostende in Belgium at the moment, where he has been since 2014.

He recently made his 100th appearance for Oostende.

Last season, Jali was linked with a move to Leeds United in England, but it didn’t materialise because of work permit issues.

“He is staying in Europe. Where? I’m not too sure at this stage. There’s serious interest in Jali from various clubs in Europe. If he moves from Belgium, it has to be France, Germany or Spain because it is difficult to transfer the player to England and Italy,” Makaab said.

“In England, there’s a problem with work permits. It is even more difficult with Bafana Bafana ranked outside the top 60 countries in the world.

“Italy has a lot of restrictions for foreign players. So, it is incredibly difficult to transfer players to Italy.”

If former Orlando Pirates star Jali does go to France, he will join his Bafana teammates Keagan Dolly, Bongani Zungu, Lebogang Mothiba and Kermit Erasmus.

“Jali is on his last seven months with Oostende. The club is still happy with his services and they are likely to offer him a new deal, but we are going to consider our options. He has been doing very well over the couple of months.

“Jali is not old, but he is not getting any younger. Therefore, his next move should be the right one,” Makaab explained.

The 27-year-old Jali has represented his country on 44 occasions, and has netted  five times. He has played in one major tournament for his country. He played in the 2015 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon).

“For now, Jali is focused on his club. He wants to stay consistent with his displays on the field of play,” Makaab concluded.
