JOHANNESBURG - Lebo Mothiba stands out in our Team of the Week having scored twice while on duty for Bafana Bafana at the Four Nations tournament in Ndola, Zambia, last week.

The France-based striker, who has been grabbing headlines abroad after he completed a transfer deadline-day move back to his parent club Lille in the French Ligue 1, carried on his club form to the national team.

Mothiba spent a season-and-a-half on the books of French Ligue 2 outfit Valenciennes, but was ordered back to Lille following improved and consistent performances.

On debut for Bafana, the forward forced their opening game against Angola in the Four Nations to penalties when he scored the equaliser late in the second half. Bafana were 6-5 winners in the penalty lottery to set up a final against the hosts.

Mothiba watched a large chunk of the final on the bench as coach Stuart Baxter looked to give every player selected an opportunity to play, but threw in Mothiba with just a few minutes left on the clock.

The 22-year-old grabbed Bafana’s second goal just seconds after coming on, running into space for Keagan Dolly’s delivery and putting the ball into the back of the net, what also his second goal of the competition.

Both goals were beautiful - the first against Angola a lovely back heel to beat the unsuspecting keeper and the second, in the final, a powerful shot on the far post.

Team of the Week formation: 4-3-3
