Johannesburg – Bafana Bafana joined the chorus of well-wishes for ailing former president Nelson Mandela on Thursday.

Coach Gordon Igesund said the team was praying for Mandela.

"On behalf of myself and the entire Bafana team, we just know that he is not very well at the moment," Igesund said at a Cosafa Cup squad announcement at Safa house on Thursday.

"I want everybody to know our prayers have been with them. The players' prayers have been with them, and everybody here at Safa.

"It's such trying times for us now. Every time you hear something on the news about Mandela, you're just hoping he's still there. He's in God's hands now and we just pray for him." – Sapa
