JOHANNESBURG – Bafana Bafana defender and captain Siyanda Xulu says all eyes will be on Tuesday's Group A games as it will determine who South Africa's Cosafa Cup quarterfinal opponents will be on Sunday in Polokwane.

Xulu, who was named skipper of the side on Monday, says the young squad is looking sharp in training and are anxious to find out who will be the top team in Group A.

Meanwhile, Xulu has nothing but praise for Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter.

“Coach Baxter is a very tactical guy and helps all the players with his experience and knowledge,” Xulu said.

“We are working hard and preparing well. From the first session, you could see the attitude of the players. They are all want to contribute and do the best for one another."

Xulu says he was somewhat surprised by his selection as skipper but is ready to wear the armband with pride. “I am very honoured, it was a huge surprise."

South Africa are four-time winners of the Cosafa Cup, with their last triumph coming in 2016.

They have brought a mostly young and inexperienced side to this year’s tournament as Baxter seeks to grow his player pool.
