MONTEVIDEO – The South African women’s team were humbled 3-0 by hosts Uruguay in an Under-17 friendly match in Montevideo on Monday.
Uruguay are the hosts of the Under-17 Women’s World Cup starting on Tuesday. SA play their first match on Wednesday against Mexico.

Safa said after the match: “The difference between Bantwana and Uruguay today was that the hosts took advantage of the minimal chances they got.
We continue to prepare for the big prize at the Under-17 Women’s World Cup.”
