Banyana Banyana’s Portia Modise has been nominated for the African Women’s Footballer of the Year award.

Modise, one of three players in line for the prestigious accolade, scored South Africa’s only goal at the London Olympic Games, netting a superb strike from nearly 50 metres out in their opening group match against Sweden.

The award winners will be announced in Accra, Ghana, on December 20. - Sapa
