Polokwane - Cape Town City coach Eric Tinkler says he will be relying on his technical team to help him try and achieve victory against SuperSport United in the Telkom Knockout Final at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday, 6pm kick-off.

Tinkler said on Thursday one of the keys of his side's success this season has been the way the technical team has come together to provide the platform for the players to shine.

Tinkler is helped in his role by assistant coach Ian Taylor and goalkeeper coach Calvin Marlin.

Tinkler says that they all have a common goal and a good working relationship that has translated to success on the pitch as the side prepares to face SuperSport United. This despite the fact that they have only worked together as a unit for a matter of months. “We all knew each other,” Tinkler said.

“I have known Ian Taylor for years and years, since the days I used to run the academy at Wits. I have always known about his qualities as a coach. Calvin Marlin is a similar scenario.

“There is not that much to learn in the game of coaching. Everybody has a very similar basis that they work from but obviously us coaches all have different personalities. “My personality is quite easy to get along with. I don't look to fight with people. It's been easy for us to settle at a unit.”
