Thembinkosi Lorch is proving why he deserves to be in the Bafana Bafana set up according to his coach, Milutin "Micho" Sredojevic.
Bafana coach, Stuart Baxter, is set to announce his squad to face Nigeria in a crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifier tomorrow.
Lorch received a late inclusion last month as Bafana collected four points against Seychelles. He replaced the injured Vincent Pule at that time.
He was the vital cog for the Bucanneers yesterday as he notched up the brace to send Pirates in to the semi finals of the Telkom Knockout.
Pirates got the better of AmaZulu as they emerge as 3-1 victors at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
Sredojevic praised Lorch for his efforts after the game.
"He has been called in to the national team but didn't play. It was very important to show to everyone that he has not been called to the national team by accident and that he fully deserves (it) and today he was a man of the match, scoring two goals. It is something we are very happy about but he is still far from what he can do. Each and every player has a huge room for improvement in our team," Sredojevic said.
Lorch has netted two goals in two matches in the Telkom Knockout. In the league he has contributed with two goals and three assists in eight games.
"I'm very happy with Lorch because he injured himself if you remember when we played AmaZulu in King Zwelithini (Stadium in Umlazi) in April. He was out for a long time. He broke his shoulder. It was hard to come back (for him). It has been a bumpy road for him to come back, " Sredojevic elaborated.
Bafana are second in group E with eight points in four matches. They will face the Super Eagles at FNB Stadium on November 17 at 3pm.
