LONDON – Watford became the latest Premier League club affected

by the new coronavirus as they announced one of their players is

awaiting test results.

Training was cancelled on Thursday ahead of their clash with

Leicester, another club who has a number of players in

self-isolation.

"We've had players who have had symptoms of not being well," Watford

manager Nigel Pearson told reporters Friday. "We've got one player

awaiting tests results on his symptoms.

The Premier League is due to hold an emergency meeting on Friday

morning to discuss the coronavirus situation.

Everton say their entire squad is in self-isolation after one of their first-team players "reported symptoms consistent with coronavirus".

Everton are due to play Liverpool on Monday in their latest Premier League match but have closed down all their workplaces, including their Goodison Park ground.

Arsenal's match with Brighton has already been postponed while Chelsea's clash with Aston Villa is almost certainly off because winger Callum Hudson-Odoi tested positive for the virus.
