DURBAN – Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United are set to battle for the services of Free State Stars’ outspoken coach Luc Eymael.

His agent Mike Maakab of ProSport International confirmed that the two clubs are interest in luring Eymael to their setups.

"We haven't had formal talks but I can confirm that Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United are interested in Luc. His name has been connected to Chiefs. I feel he will do a fantastic job at Chiefs.

The most important thing though is that Chiefs have had a lot of applications. They have to make a decision. This is not fair on Free State Stars. Something has to happen this week," Makaab said as he confirmed interest in his client.

Amakhosi parted ways with Steve Komphela following the club’s Nedbank Cup semi-final defeat to Free State Stars in Durban. Patrick Mabedi steered the ship until the end of the season.

"I haven't presented any offer to Chiefs and SuperSport. We don't have to present any offer for a coach like Luc. He is working in South Africa and they know what he is capable off.

If they are interested in his services, they must contact Free State Stars, as he has a buy-out-clause," Makaab elaborated.

Eymael propelled Free State Stars to Nedbank Cup glory this past weekend as his side swept past Maritzburg United 1-0 in Cape Town, ending their 24 year trophy drought.

They will be competing in the Caf Confederation Cup and the MTN 8 after finishing sixth on the log.
