Johannesburg – After emerging from the international break unscathed, Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter says his full-strength squad will be gunning for three points this weekend as they look to extend their advantage in the league standings.

Chiefs, who are five points clear at the top of the Absa Premiership log, face Bloemfontein Celtic at Free State Stadium on Sunday.

“It is a tough one in Bloemfontein against a side that is always looking to do well at home,” Baxter told the Chiefs website.

“We will not be expecting a good reception there and we will be taking no prisoners.

“I am delighted that the players who were doing international duty came back with no injuries and everyone is raring to go.

“The competition for places for this game is high and a good headache for the coach. The players have looked good in training this week.”

With second-placed Orlando Pirates holding a game in hand, Baxter said Amakhosi were not getting too far ahead of themselves.

“Our focus now is the trip to Bloemfontein and we will start thinking of the next assignment after the game on Sunday.”

Meanwhile, Pirates defender Thabo Matlaba fired a warning at top-flight rookies University of Pretoria ahead of their clash at FNB Stadium on Saturday.

Matlaba, however, insisted there would be no complacency from the Buccaneers after an impressive showing by the Tuks outfit this season.

“It will be a tough match for us Ä we beat them in the first round and that gives us a psychological boost going into this encounter,” Matlaba told the Pirates website.

“For us, winning is a must, so expect the team to be firing on all cylinders.”
