CAPE TOWN – It didn’t take long for Dan ‘Dance’ Malesela to find a new job in football.

After being unceremoniously dumped once more by Chippa United, the 53-year-old mentor was announced as the new coach of NFD side TS Galaxy FC on Monday.

Malesela, who was fired by the Chilli Boys last month, takes over from Vusi Mkhatshwa after Galaxy were unable to win any of their opening three matches this season, with two draws and a defeat.

The decision to let Mkhatshwa go after just three games mirrors the ‘hire and fire’ approach of Chippa United boss Siviwe ‘Chippa’ Mpengesi, so Malesela is going into familiar territory.

“We welcome coach Dan Malesela to our club. He is a great coach who needs no further introduction to the football fraternity. He comes with a wealth of experience which will go a long way in taking our club to greater heights,” Galaxy boss Tim Sukazi said on the club website.

“As young as we are, we have become aware of the kind of responsibility on our young shoulders. If carrying such responsibility requires us bringing a coach of coach of Dan Malesela’s calibre, this is exactly what we have done.

“As a club, we represent communities and supporters that are very passionate about the game and they want nothing short of success.

“The appointment of Coach Dan is nothing but one way of us delivering our people’s dream of many years.”

Malesela has been handed a two-year contract, and he will hope to take ‘The Rockets’ straight into the Absa Premiership next season.
