JOHANNESBURG - This weeks’ Team Of the Week celebrates Bhongolwethu Jayiya’s magnificent hat-trick for Cape Town City at home against Chippa United eight days ago in an emphatic 4-1 victory at Athlone Stadium. The winger netted three goals in 10 minutes to make sure the game was over as a contest even before half-time.

His coach, Eric Tinkler, lauded Jayiya after the match, the former Orlando Pirates mentor also stressing that he now wants more from his winger in City’s push for the Absa Premiership title in the final weeks of the 2016/17 campaign.

The hat-trick was a very good start on that road.

Also making the team is Sibusiso Masuku, who was unknown until his heroics for Acornbush United against Kaizer Chiefs in their Nedbank Cup last 16 defeat in Nelspruit on Sunday afternoon.

Amakhosi were made to sweat for the come-from-behind 2-1 victory over the ABC Motsepe League outfit at the KaBokweni Stadium, with Masuku pulling off some breathtaking saves to deny the Chiefs attack and deservedly earning a Man of the Match award.

It is also fitting that Gustavo Paez, who was responsible for seeing to it that the Glamour Boys book their place in the quarter-finals of the cup, is picked for the Team of the Week.

Paez came off the bench to show a true killer instinct and silence critics with his two well-taken goals.
