CAPE TOWN – Cape Town defender Nathan Gertse will, finally, have an opportunity to put his talent on show in the PSL.

The 26-year-old, who has trod the National First Division (NFD) with distinction over the last few years, with clubs like Vasco da Gama, Stellenbosch FC and Cape Town All Stars, will join Chippa United in Port Elizabeth next season.

Gertse was in the Ajax Cape Town youth academy and was promoted to the PSL squad in 2011.

He never really got much of a chance in the top-flight and spent the next few seasons honing his craft in the NFD. Having now made the jump to the PSL with Chippa, Gerste is determined to make the most of it.

“I’m ready now, I want to take this chance,” said Gertse.

“I’ve had my time in the NFD, now I want to establish myself in the PSL. “I’m already thinking about all those cup tournaments and winning it with the Chilli Boys.”
