DURBAN – Veteran goal-minder Moeneeb Josephs has been snapped up by AmaZulu.

This was confirmed by the club’s General Manager Lunga Sokhela.

Former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Josephs has been playing second fiddle to Darren Keet at Bidvest Wits.

“We’ve bought Moeneeb from Wits. Next season he will be playing his football here at AmaZulu. We are excited to sign a player of his calibre,” Sokhela explained.

Josephs will compete with Siyabonga Mbatha and Energy Murambadoro for the No 1 jersey at Usuthu. The club are likely to release Boalefa Pule, who is on loan from SuperSport United.

The 37-year-old Josephs has been playing top-flight football since 1997.

He has turned out for clubs like Ajax Cape Town, Orlando Pirates and Wits, and made 22 appearances for Bafana Bafana.

AmaZulu will compete in the MTN8 next season after finishing eighth on the Premiership log at the end of the league on Saturday.

They will travel to Orlando, where they will face Pirates in the quarter-final of the MTN8.
