BARCELONA - Golden Arrows’ tenure in Spain was dealt with a massive blow on Monday morning.

The match between Barcelona’s B team and Arrows was cancelled due to a number of injuries to the Blaugrana's players. The injury list was occupied by both players who were on national team duty and those who were in the match-day squad of the 2-0 loss to Osasuna last night.

However, Abafana Bes’thende will have fond memories of their time in Spain over the past 10 days. On Monday 19, they beat Rayo Vallecano 2-1. Vallecano are team that are summit of La Liga Segunda division. Quique Medina, Uefa Pro License holder, said on Sunday that this is the most difficult second tier division in the world.

Medina might have been correct considering how the mighty Barcelona are languishing in 16th position on the log standings. Sevilla’s B team is on the brink of relegation as they are rooted at the bottom of the log with 19 points from 32 games.

The other positive that Abafana Bes’thende will take from their tour is their impressive performance they displayed in the 4-2 loss to La Liga outfit Girona. Although the reserve team were in the losing side, but they played with so much determination, confidence and maturity against a team chasing for a Uefa Europa league spot next season.

The team is expected to land back at OR. Tambo International Airport on Tuesday morning. Where there’ll board their flight to King Shaka.
