DURBAN – Veteran striker Nathan Paulse has suggested that his playing career might be over.
The Athlone-born striker has been hitting the back of the net for the past 18 years, but contract was not renewed at Ajax Cape Town at the end of last season.
The 35-year-old Paulse posted a picture of his jersey on Instagram with his surname, jersey number 29 and then below the number “1999-2017”.
Last week, he was on a panel of analysts for SuperSport.
An attempt to get hold of Paulse on Friday proved futile as his phone rang unanswered.
Paulse made his debut in 2000 for the Urban Warriors, and he enjoyed four stints at the club.
In 2001, he left Ajax and joined Avendale Athletico in the National First Division.
The tall marksman Paulse made a return to Ajax in 2002 and then played six years at Ikamva before earning a contract with Hammarby IF in Sweden.

In 2010, he was loaned to Ajax before getting another loan spell at Bloemfontein Celtic in 2011.
The well-travelled striker had short stints with Platinum Stars and SuperSport United as well, before returning to Ajax in 2013.
Paulse made one appearance for Bafana Bafana, and has begun a journey to become a coach, having recently completed a CAF C Licence course.
