CAPE TOWN – It’s official: SuperSport United are Orlando Pirates’ bogey team.
This much was clear after Matsatsantsa a Pitori survived a penalty miss by Pirates’ Zambian Augustine Mulenga, and came through a penalty shoot-out 4-3 in the MTN8 quarter-final on Saturday night.
It was the 10th consecutive match for the Buccaneers in which they were unable to get the better of SuperSport.
Even Pirates themselves described the bad run as a “hoodoo” on their website, adding: “Orlando Pirates have failed to shake the SuperSport United monkey off their back.”
