Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates will both be at home, while defending champions Wits face a tricky away fixture against Free State Stars in the Telkom Knockout last-16.

The draw was conducted at the SuperSport studios in Randburg on Monday night.

The high-riding Clever Boys – who top the Absa Premiership log with 17 points in nine games – will have to travel to Goble Park in Bethlehem to take on Luc Eymael’s outfit, who are currently ninth on the league standings after recording three wins in 10 matches.

Giovanni Solinas will be relatively pleased with Chiefs’ home draw, as they will take on Black Leopards, while Pirates boss Milutin Sredojevic will face what could be a highly motivated Chippa United team, as the Buccaneers signed quite a few of their players in the off-season.

Perennial favourites Mamelodi Sundowns will have an intriguing battle against Bloemfontein Celtic, with the respective coaches, Pitso Mosimane and Steve Komphela, good friends in the football world.

Benni McCarthy’s Cape Town City will have to fly to Durban, as they were drawn against AmaZulu.

Dates, kickoff times and venues for each match will still be confirmed in due course, but the tournament will start on the weekend of October 20-21.
