CAPE TOWN – Kaizer Chiefs and Cape Town City fans will be able to see their favourite players in action this weekend in the final pre-season friendly before the official campaign begins.

City and Chiefs announced on Monday that they will face each other in the Mpumalanga Cultural Experience Cup at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Saturday.

Kickoff will be at 3pm, and tickets are available at R50 from Computicket and Shoprite-Checkers stores. The curtain-raiser will see Mbombela United take on Spear of the Nation at 12pm.

The Amakhosi have had a mixed pre-season in terms of results as they won the Maize Cup in Orkney, but then lost 2-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns in the Shell Helix Ultra Cup at the FNB Stadium at the weekend.

Saturday’s match will be the last chance for the players to impress respective coaches Giovanni Solinas and Benni McCarthy.

“We are happy to play in the match – it is important, because we are playing against a good team in City,” striker Dumsani Zuma told the Chiefs website on Monday. “We have been doing well with the preparations, and we are looking forward to Saturday.”
