DURBAN - Maritzburg United coach Fadlu Davids is set to complete his Uefa A coaching licence.

United chairman, Farook Kadodia, has confirmed that Davids is in Holland where he is completing his Uefa A Coaching Licence.

Davids has made remarkable debut in his head coaching career. He was appointed as the head coach of the Team of Choice at the start of the season.

The position was vacant after Roger de Sa decided to leave the club. Davids was handed a 2 year deal which has been recently extended by a further two years.

"People asked me how can I gamble when I appointed Fadlu. I knew Fadlu has got that passion to elevate his own coaching career. He made his own investment for the cost of the coaching course. He sacrificed time," Kadodia elaborated.

Davids is nominated for the coach of the season gong along with Mamelodi Sundown manager Pitso Mosimane and Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic.

He made history in the season that has just ended by propelling Maritzburg United to their maiden cup final appearance. He also reached the semi finals of the MTN 8 and finished fourth on the log.

Davids will open the new season against Cape Town City in the quarter-final of the MTN 8 at Harry Gwala Stadium.
