Is it something in the Durban water? Maybe the tropical air? Whatever it is, the Premier Soccer League’s love affair with the Moses Mabhida Stadium will continue.

The biggest fixture in the country – Kaizer Chiefs against Orlando Pirates – will be heading to KZN for the Telkom Knockout semi-final, with Amakhosi’s Durban fan-base sure to be delighted to see their favourite team.

It has been previously reported that the FNB Stadium was not available on November 24, as the Motsepe Foundation had scheduled a national prayer meeting for that weekend at the venue.

It is understood that Cape Town Stadium may not have been available either, as the pitch is normally cared for to be pristine for the Cape Town Sevens, which takes place on December 8-9.

The PSL announced on Thursday that Moses Mabhida Stadium will host Chiefs versus Pirates on Saturday, November 24 at 3pm, while the other Telkom Knockout semi-final between Baroka FC and Wits will take place on Sunday, November 25 at Peter Mokaba Stadium (3pm kickoff).

Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas will hope for a different outcome this time, after the Amakhosi lost 2-1 to the Buccaneers last month.

The final of the cup competition is scheduled for the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth on December 8.
