DURBAN – Maritzburg United are not intending on selling their starlet Siphesihle Ndlovu who has taken the Premier Soccer League by storm this season.

Ndlovu was awarded the player of the month this week and he is the hot favourite to scoop the PSL Young Player of the Season.

Team of Choice has the history of selling their best players. They recently sold Evans Rusike to SuperSport United.

Rusike followed on the foot-steps of the likes of Cuthbert Malajila, Onismor Bhasera, Rudolf Bester, Rheece Evans and Mohammed Awal who all left Maritzburg United for big clubs.

Maritzburg United chairman Farook Kadodia has made it clear that he want Ndlovu to develop at the Team of Choice.

“We identified his talent when he was at the academy. We didn’t want to rush him. He has been working hard and we are happy with his progress. He is very committed player.

We have to make sure that we protect and guide him as the young-star. He still need another season or two here at Maritzburg to develop. He is only 21. We won’t be rushing in to deals,” Kadodia explained.

* Maritzburg meet Ajax in a PSL clash at home on Sunday at 3.30pm.
