DURBAN - Ajax Cape Town coach Muhsin Ertugral believes the Premiership relegation battle will go down to the wire, after the Urban Warriors succumbed to a 2-1 defeat to AmaZulu at King Zwelithini Stadium on Tuesday night

Goals from Mhlengi Cele and an own goal from Siyanda Zwane handed Usuthu a crucial three points, meaning Ajax are still languishing second from the bottom of the log. Ertugral and his troops are facing a mammoth task in their quest to avoid relegation.

"Survival is still possible. We have five games to go, I think we have to win three of those matches. It think the relegation battle will go in to the last game of the season," Ertugral explained.

"We are still the relegation battle, so is SuperSport United and Polokwane City. The moment when we win we will take another one with us. It will be decided on the last day."

Ajax are left with five games to keep their PSL status. They have to beat the likes of Bidvest Wits, Baroka, Chippa United and Mamelodi Sundowns.

"It is not easy now, every game is difficult. Last time we lost against Lamontville Golden Arrows here in Durban (at Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu)," the Ajax boss added.

"Tuesday we also lost to another contender (in a relegation battle). My players are free to play at home then away. I've been trying to fix this ever since I've been here."

Ajax have never been relegated in their history.
