Sundowns confirm Nelson Mandela Centenary clash against Barcelona

CAPE TOWN - Mamelodi Sundowns chairman Patrice Motsepe has confirmed that the proposed super-clash against La Liga champions Barcelona next Wednesday is going ahead.

Motsepe made the announcement at the Sandton Convention Centre on Thursday, with the match kicking off at 6pm at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday, May 16.

The match will form part of the Nelson Mandela Centenary Celebrations.

Government was represented by Minister of Energy Jeff Radebe at the announcement, while there was also someone from La Liga present at the event.

Tickets are expected to range from R40 to R550, according to Stadium Management South Africa chief executive Jacques Grobbelaar.

More details on the match are expected to be revealed by Motsepe during the press conference.
