CAPE TOWN – On the eve of their opening Absa Premiership game against Kaizer Chiefs – set for Loftus Versfeld Stadium this Saturday – Mamelodi Sundowns announced not one, not even two, but three new signings!
Earlier today, Sundowns announced that Bafana Bafana midfielder Lebohang Maboe has joined the club from Maritzburg United.
The cost of the transfer and the length of Maboe’s contract has not been revealed by either club at this stage.
Maboe is an attacking midfielder and will help Sundowns fill the gap left by left the departures of Khama Billiat to rivals Kaizer Chiefs and Percy Tau to Premier League side, Brighton & Hove Albion.
A few hours later, Masandawana announced, via social media, that joining them from Supersport United is shot-stopper Reyaad Pieterse.
Pieterse spent two seasons with Matsatsantsa a Pitori following his departure from Kaizer Chiefs.
The signing announcements didn't stop there.Joining Pieterse on the Sundowns playing staff from today is defensive hardman Mosa Lebusa.
The club’s twitter account shows coach Pitso Mosimane handing over the number two jersey to Lebusa.
Today's announcements bring to seven the number of acquisitions by Mamelodi Sundowns.
