JOHANNESBURG – SuperSport United on Friday announced the signing of Botswana international midfielder Mogakolodi Ngele from Mamelodi Sundowns on a six-month loan deal.

The 27-year-old enjoyed a successful three-year spell at Platinum Stars helping them to MTN 8 and Telkom Knock-Out titles and scoring over 25 goals in all competitions.

This success led to his signing for Mamelodi Sundowns in 2015, a successful season for Sundowns winning the ABSA Premiership and the Telkom Knockout.

He was loaned to Bidvest Wits in 2016 and played a significant role in helping his club to win their maiden Absa Premiership league title and MTN 8 trophy.

Stan Matthews, SuperSport CEO said, “Since the departure of Jeremy Brockie to Sundowns, and with Bradley Grobler injured, we need some experience up front to help bring some of our youngsters through, the same way Yeye has helped Teboho Mokoena and Sipho Mbule, our hope is that Mogakolodi can be that player, he has an amazing record, winning trophies wherever he goes and making critical contributions in big games. He will be with us for the remainder of the season and if successful we will see what we can do to extend his stay.”

In other club news, midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane and defender Clayton Daniels have been rewarded for their contribution to the club’s success with contract extensions

“Yeye and Clayton have shown tremendous commitment to the club and have been heavily involved in our success over the last few years, players like them are few and far between, both have had long careers and just seem to keep going and going, they both represent the ambitions and vision of the club, with fantastic performances and an eye on the development of younger players, it is a pleasure to reward their efforts with contract extensions.”
