CAPE TOWN – After going down to SuperSport United in the MTN8 final, Cape Town City will face a tough task in defending their Telkom Knockout crown against Baroka FC.

The Telkom Knockout draw took place in Johannesburg on Monday afternoon, with Benni McCarthy’s side having to travel to Polokwane to take on Bakgaga.

The eight round of 16 matches will take place on the weekend of October 27 and 28.

City beat SuperSport United 2-1 in last year’s final, when Eric Tinkler was still in charge of the Cape club.

Other big guns such as Mamelodi Sundowns (against Chippa United), SuperSport United (against Bloemfontein Celtic) and Orlando Pirates (versus Golden Arrows) also have to play away from home.

Kaizer Chiefs were the lucky ones as they managed to secure a home clash against AmaZulu.
