JOHANNESBURG – Mamelodi Sundowns have a chance to settle a score with the reigning African champions Wydad Casablanca who dethroned them in the quarter-finals of the Caf Champions League last year.

The Brazilians and the Moroccan giants are favourites to finish in the top two of Group C having been drawn together alongside AS Togo-Sport of Togo and Guinea’s Horoya in Cairo yesterday.

The group stage matches will run from May 4 until August 29 with the top two teams in each group advancing to the quarter-finals that will be played in September.

Meanwhile SuperSport United will take on Gor Mahia of Kenya in the Caf Confederation Cup playoffs with a place in the group stage up for grabs.

The first leg will be played in Nairobi on the weekend of April 6-8 with the return leg held at Lucas Moripe Stadium on either April 17 or 18.

Wits have it tougher in their quest to reach the group stage of the Confederation Cup. The Clever Boys were drawn with two-time African champions Enyimba. Wits will host the first leg before travelling to Nigeria for the decisive leg.
