They only have a few days to savour the moment, but it was a memorable night for Cape Town City on Saturday as they clinched their second trophy in their short history against SuperSport United.

The 4-1 penalty shoot-out triumph in the MTN8 final was the first piece of silverware for coach Benni McCarthy, and it was sweet revenge for the Citizens after they lost on spot-kicks to Matsatsantsa a Pitori last year.

McCarthy said afterwards in a TV interview that he was concerned the result would go the same way this time as the match ended 0-0 after 120 minutes of action at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

City are back on the pitch on Tuesday night, this time in an Absa Premiership clash against Wits at the Cape Town Stadium (7.30pm).

The club are extending the feel-good vibes by charging just R10 per ticket for entry to the match.
