MUNICH, Germany - Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has said the German champions will unveil their next coach within days - and former boss Pep Guardiola approves of their choice.

"This was purely friendly meeting. But of course we also talked business. I also told him who we will present in the next days - and he agreed with that," Hoeness told the Munich Abendzeitung paper late Tuesday.

According to the Sueddeutsche paper, an appointment is expected by Monday at the latest.

Hoeness met with Guardiola in a Munich restuarant but insisted there would be no shock move to bring the Spaniard back to the club.

"He is in Munich for three days now and was at Oktoberfest yesterday," Hoeness explained. "He has promised to come to Oktoberfest every year. It was a lovely lunch. We were warming up our friendship but nothing more."

Bayern parted company with previous coach Carlo Ancelotti last Thursday following a 3-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. Caretaker coach Willy Sagnol led the team to a 2-2 Bundesliga draw at Hertha Berlin on Sunday.

Thomas Tuchel, former coach of current league leaders Borussia Dortmund, is considered a favourite for the vacant position on the Munich bench, as is Julian Nagelsmann of Hoffenheim. However, he would likely not be available till next summer and an interim solution would also be required.
