Barcelona, Spain – Real Madrid broke the Spanish league's all-time season scoring record through Sami Khedira's goal in the 18th minute against Barcelona on Saturday.

Madrid's 108 goals surpassed the 107 set by the Spanish powerhouse in the 1989-90 season.

Forward Cristiano Ronaldo has scored a joint-league-record 41 for Madrid this season, while strikers Gonzalo Higuain and Karim Benzema have struck a respective 21 and 18 times in league play.

Madrid entered the game at Camp Nou with a four-point lead in the Spanish standings with four more games to be played. – Sapa-AP
