CAPE TOWN – Stormers and Springboks captain Siya Kolisi on Friday took to social media to wish South Africans well as the country started day one of the 21-day lockdown.

SA President Cyril Ramaphosa recently announced the unprecedented lockdown measures in response to the rapid spread of Covid-19 in the country.

Sadly, the first day of the lockdown acoincided with the news of the country’s first two deaths due to the coronavirus – both in the Western Cape – as the infection rate also surpassed the 1 000-person mark.

“I want to encourage you guys to stay indoors and look after your family,” said Kolisi.

“Keep each other positive, keep active, keep working, get to know each other and we’ll get through this thing together.”
