DURBAN - Popular maskandi artist Khuzani Mpungose has vowed he too will fill up Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium this December.
According to Isolezwe, Khuzani will host his concert on December 8 at the iconic world cup stadium, a week after rapper Cassper Nyovest hosts his own #FillUpMosesMabhida themed show.
Cassper Nyovest has his sights set on filling up Moses Mabhida, having filled the Dome, Orlando and FNB Stadium in the past three years.
However, Cassper Nyovest caused a stir last week when he sent a lawyer’s letter to Limpopo musician Benny Mayengeni who had used the words ‘fill up’ for his concert in Giyani, Limpopo. The rapper claimed he had trademarked the phrase, but TimesLive revealed this week that he did not own the trademark yet and could thus not take legal action.
@CassperNyovest, thanks for making our Tuesday! See you in December 💙 #FillUpMosesMabhida #MMSLive https://t.co/kpiBJgbFRt

Khuzani took to social media this week to say he may re-brand the campaign owing to the trademark issues. He wrote on Instagram:
“To those who have been asking what will I do since Cassper does not want people to use the #FillUp term, my answer is 'In terms of Section 9 Read with Section 10 of the Trademarks Act No.194 of 1993 it says ‘in order to be registrable, a trademark must be distinctive and unique’. In other words, you cannot trademark a general, but nonetheless, since we are about peace, we will find another term that will be different, but the stadium will be filled,” said Khuzani.
