Durban - A community radio broadcaster who was filmed twerking on a man’s crotch until he appeared to wet himself, has been reportedly suspended by her radio station.
The incident was captured on a video which went viral on social media in recent weeks. The radio producer and presenter, Nosipho Ngubane of Durban’s Izwi LoMzansi FM, was suspended according to Isolezwe.
Ngubane is a current affairs producer and presenter of the show Ikusasa Lethu, which loosely translates to ‘Our Future’.
It is understood she was dancing with a friend in the video in front of a Gagasi FM Beachfest branded car, but the radio station is not pleased with the incident. The video went viral as the friend appeared to wet himself as she danced on him.
A source said: “Stakeholders are not happy because this video has damaged the reputation of the station. What also makes us more angry is that she was doing this in front of a car branded with Gagasi FM. She needs to answer what was she doing next to a car of a rival station”.
Approached for comment, Ngubane would not confirm nor deny her suspension but asked to be contacted later. When she was contacted again, she did not respond.
Vela Xulu of the radio station denied Ngubane had been suspended because of the video and claimed she had asked for time off.
“What I know is that she requested to rest at home. She asked for us to give her time off because she wants to sort out some personal issues,” he said.
