DURBAN - A DURBAN model’s dream to strut down one of the world’s most prestigious catwalks was realised this week, and she loved every minute of it.

Neetasha Singh modelled at the Milan Fashion Week in Italy and described the experience as “surreal”.

“This has been my dream since I was a little girl and I am proud of myself for seeing it through. Growing up, I always felt unrepresented because no one on international ramps looked like me. Now I hope to change that,” said Singh, from Phoenix.

Singh, who is also a qualified accountant, is no stranger to international runways.

“I’ve been blessed with a successful career internationally, and I have graced some of the world’s most prestigious catwalks. I have worked with huge international designers, doing runway modelling, campaigns and catalogue shoots,” she said.

On Thursday, Singh was in Milan representing London designer Chanel Joan Elkayam and showing off her autumn and winter collection.

“This was my first show for Elkayam. She had me in a haute couture gold mermaid trail dress, embroidered with Swarovski crystals and glass beads. It was regal and glamorous,” said Singh.
