Nigerian media mogul, entrepreneur, and YouTuber Toke Makinwa joins the Honey TV channel with her newest TV show Talk With Toke Makinwa.

The talk show will feature some of Africa’s biggest celebrities for intimate, in-depth sit-down conversations with Makinwa.

These interviews, also, are aimed at revealing stories behind the headlines, addressing the stars’ controversies and triumphs, and finally giving them an opportunity to set the record straight.

The Talk With Toke Makinwa show is set to follow the Jimmy Kimmel Live format, attracting only the most exclusive names in African entertainment.

“I am so thrilled! I have always wanted to have a global television show” says Makinwa. “It’s been part of my dream, the bigger picture, and HONEY has just given me that opportunity. I look forward to it.”

Season one will see the likes of DJ Zinhle, Pearl Thusi, Zari “The Boss Lady” and Nasty C on the couch.

“This show is dynamic and unpredictable. It has all the conversations that viewers have been waiting to hear, straight from the source,” says Zinzi Velelo, HONEY’s Head of Content. “Africa’s biggest celebrities are setting the record straight, once and for all.”

Makinwa has garnered a sterling media career and brand value as one of Africa’s hottest “it girls”.

Born and bred in Lagos, the heart of Nigeria’s entertainment industry, she found success with her late-night radio show, Rhythms of the Night on Nigeria’s 93.7 FM, where she sharpened her skills early on in her career.

She has also become a social media sensation and is rated one of Africa’s most prominent online influencers.

From jetting around the world to setting ‘friendship goals’ with South Africa’s Bonang Matheba, her social status has undoubtedly been solidified.

Talk With Toke Makinwa will premiere on DStv’s HONEY TV (channel 173) on 19 November 2021.
