Social media has allowed people to spread their talent faster than before. Graphic designer David Tshabalala, popularly known as Slaying Goliath, managed to use Instagram as a platform to bring fresh artistic pieces to life.

“Run The World stemmed from a bunch of requests from female friends who wanted me to illustrate them on separate occasions,” said Tsabalala.

“I want to profile young South African women who I consider to be the future thought leaders of the country. These are young women who may or may not be known under the public spotlight, yet, in each of their creative disciplined passions and careers, they illuminate a spirit of solidarity in power. Warrior women who will indeed inherit the earth.”

MUSICAL MUSE: Singer Moonchild is one of the portraits on show.

Tshabalala will be showcasing his Run the World series of images at Joziburg, the new lifestyle hub in downtown Johannesburg.

The exhibition will see the playful and colourful profile portraits he has done over the last two years during Women's Month.

Tshabalala was selected as an Emerging Creative at the 2013 Design Indaba. The exhibition launches today and runs until August 31.
