Johannesburg – On par with global trends moving more towards day time entertainment, Altitude Beach announced its next chapter of Daytime Dreaming.

The luxury entertainment spot, which opened its doors nearly two years ago, launched its newly renovated venue with the inclusion of a state of the art new roof application last week.

The venue also launched its new sustainable menu.

“Having survived the pandemic thus far, Altitude Beach offers our patrons an exclusive safe haven to still experience the best of what South Africa entertainment has to offer, right in your backyard. With the recent addition of this functional roof application, our offering is now even safer during both summer and winter,” said co-owner Ricardo da Costa.

Having made a high impact on Joburg’s entertainment scene over the past 18 months, this premium water-front dining and lifestyle venue is stepping it up a notch with their next chapter.

“With this next chapter of Daytime Dreaming, we have introduced a brand new list of world-class delectable dishes to our menu to die for. Our patrons are always at the forefront of our decision making, we are super amped about the latest changes and we know they will be too,” he said.

The translucent retractable roofing structure was designed to let natural light in, while keeping the harmful UV rays out during the summer time. The dynamic roof structure is carefully positioned over a huge part of the venue to keep the winter chills at bay. The addition of 50 infrared heaters strategically placed under the roofed section will also further warm guests up on colder evenings in Johannesburg.

Da Costa explained that they are constantly evolving to create a more dynamic venue. The idea of the roof extension was an open air solution to the beach club.

He said he hoped that with the installation of the new motorized retractable roof, patrons will now have the confidence to choose Altitude Beach as their go-to-place whether it’s raining or whether it’s cold.

“Instead of putting a tent up when it rains or using gas heaters when it’s cold, we have installed something that would accommodate all four seasons. When it’s a beautiful day we will open up the roof and enjoy the open space. Premium, seamless and dynamic. We chose to go with infrared heaters as they heat the human body. It’s a progressive way to apply the space that we have. It’s taken us a bit of time to align the details but we are happy with the result.”

For the menu, a modern fusion between Asian and Caribbean inspired food with an obvious African twist flipped the new menu on its head. Curated by a team of silver service consultants, the diverse menu boasts a selection of delectable trademark tomahawk steak options including the infamous villa carnival platter. The venue also hosts a sophisticated, state-of-the-art, stand-alone Sushi / Oyster bar which remains a firm favourite.

When it comes to the drinks, the various bars throughout the venue offer an endless selection of premium drinks, luxury cocktails and designer warm drinks options that will be available from the world-class bartenders and mixologists.

Situated in the heart of the north, this breath-taking water wonderland can host 1500 guests at full capacity post.

At the launch, soul and hip hop band Kitchen Mess performed for the audience as they were introduced to the new menu.

Da Costa said there was still more to come at Altitude Beach.
