Johannesburg - A man was shot and killed in Randburg on Tuesday morning in Kent Avenue and Grove Street following an attempted cash-in-transit heist.
In the video that has gone viral on social media, a suspect is seen firing a rifle in the direction of the cash van.
According to Netcare 911 spokesperson Tebogo Magoro, law enforcement officers surrounded the area.
"On arrival they found law enforcement surrounding the area and a helicopter overhead searching for suspects. Reports from the scene indicate that this was an attempted cash in-transit heist, shots were fired between the two parties leaving one suspect in his 30s with fatal injuries," said Magoro.

The armed robbers abandoned two of the vehicles they were travelling in, in close proximity to the scene, leaving the deceased suspect in one of the cars before hijacking another vehicle and fleeing the scene.
