Johannesburg - A new television show hosted by the vibrant Moonchild Sanelly is coming to screens today, where the singer zooms in on the lives of South Africa’s most prolific artists and entertainers.

The popular singer has gained a reputation as South Africa’s most unique performer and she brings her wit and no-holds barred attitude to Madness Method.

Coming to DStv’s BET Africa channel from Friday at 9.30pm. The programme peels off the layers of artists and entertainers to get to the madness that drives creatives who see the world differently.

The sharp-witted Moonchild will unpack the core of what makes the artist successful, while keeping them on their toes.

She will engage in candid interviews with 10 creatives over a glass of Scottish Leader whisky.

Director of the show Jon Savage said: “Moonchild was born to host this show and she’s supported by a special deck of unique cards to create a brand new Madness Method card game that takes the conversation into unknown territory, a masked mixologist, a set made out of a suitcase and a bottle of Scottish Leader.”

Over 10 episodes, guests, including fresh faces and veterans, will address vital topics in society which include patriarchy, black love, gender identities and binary and navigating the entertainment industry in a Covid-19 world.

The show also features a unique deck of Madness Method cards, curated to gain the attention of both guests and at-home audiences and the Masked Mixologist, who whips up whisky cocktails during the interviews.

The project was shot on locations around Johannesburg’s most impressive landmarks such as the iconic Eyethu Theatre in Soweto, the adrenaline-pumping Soweto Towers, the iconic Market Theatre, the Katy’s Palace in Sandton and the Newtown Music Factory.

“Madness Method is not only one of the coolest projects I’ve been involved with, it’s one of the coolest shows you will see on TV this year. It’s an irreverent talkshow you’ll ever hear from your favourite celebrities,” Savage said.

The director added that the guest list for the show was a secret.

“Each week we release clues and you have to guess who’s coming. Wicked viewing… I love it,” Savage said.

Scottish Leader marketing manager Lynsay Sampson said the programme had created a platform to showcase interesting and colourful characters who had chosen a creative and dynamic path.

“We trust that viewers and fans will be inspired to live their truth whatever it may be. Scottish Leader strives to create a safe, inclusive, non-prejudice environment where people feel free to be themselves at our events and experience platforms,” Sampson said.
