The winter season is upon us and the Angel Network is embarking on a vigorous charity drive in Johannesburg and other parts of Gauteng.

The charity organization is seeking donations of clothes and R200.

This will enable them to help those living on the streets and those in desperate need of assistance.

Recently the Angel Network supplied essential packs to more than 500 people throughout Gauteng to assist them, This included a sleeping bag, a blanket and food items,

The founder of The Angel Network, Glynne Wolman told The Star that the work of charity was still much needed to help those who had lost their livelihoods due to the Covid-19 pandemic and a weak economy.

"We are running our annual winter warmer collection which includes a scarf and beanie and blanket for children. We are trying to raise enough funds to assist vulnerable and orphaned children to keep them warm this winter," Wolman said.

Wolman said the Angel Network had thriving soup kitchens all over the country and this has helped close the gap for those who were experiencing tough times. Wolman said the Angel Network was also running another charity drive that would supply clothes and some assistance to mothers of children with special needs.

Two of the three mothers were foreign national who lived on the mercy of good samaritans

"The other drive that we have is to supply clothing to three mothers that had the burden of taking care of children with special needs."

The Angel Network is also taking funds for education. Currently they are assisting five medical students and 15 high school students.
