It’s the final countdown for Miss Earth South Africa, Tamerin Jardine (pictured).

After a whirlwind three weeks in the Philippines filled with interviews, challenges, press events and projects, she’s the hot favourite to take the crown at the Miss Earth 2012 final tomorrow night.

Jardine, 25, has notched up eight medals in the past few weeks – with top three finishes in evening wear, swimwear, national costume and the talent competition – placing her second out of 92 contestants on the competition score sheets, just a few points behind leading Turkey.

Among pageant watchers, she rose from tepid admiration after taking the local title in August, to the international favourite after her wins in the Philippines.

Pageant news blog Missosology has thrown its weight behind South Africa, openly endorsing Jardine for the crown.

“Her lean physique and curves in the right places make her a statuesque beauty,” the news blog wrote this week, raving about her law degree and involvement in environmental projects. “Crown Tamerin – the most gorgeous, the most beautiful contestant in this year’s pageant.”
