Durban - The Phoenix Drug Task Team nabbed two alleged drug dealers in separate raids on Monday.

Two men - aged 57 and 32- have been charged and will appear in the Phoenix Magistrate's Court.

Police spokesperson, Captain Nqobile Gwala, said police acted on information received. 

In the first incident, the 57 year old was arrested at his alleged drug den, and found in possession of 36 pieces of rock cocaine.

In the second incident, the 32 year old was charged for possession of 270 piece of rock cocaine and 20 mandrax tablets.

The KwaZulu-Natal Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Bheki Langa, welcomed the arrest of the suspects.

“We will intensify our festive season operations in getting rid of drugs in our community. We appeal to the community members to come forward and give us information about any suspected drug dealers in their areas on our Crime Stop number 08600 10111."
